The Eugénie armchair is a seat that was designed for Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III, for their Palace in Biarritz.
It is a tribute to the artisanal work of an upholsterer which requires a whole week of labor to make it. This armchair is in the shape of a shell and rests on a fixed seat.
Its two front legs are in the shape of a baluster ending in gilded brass casters while its two rear legs are in the shape of a saber.
