HOW TO DESIGN YOUR BEDROOM
IN FOUR KEY STEPS?

Designing your bedroom is no small task. It means preparing a space for rest, sleep, and personal intimacy, either shared with someone or kept for oneself. It’s about creating a restorative cocoon, tailored to your desires. How can you create a bedroom that reflects you? We believe it comes down to four key building points.

Choose your furniture carefully.

Before any decoration or adjustments, it’s important to pay attention to the main furniture pieces in your bedroom. These will be your key assets, creating a coherent, unique atmosphere that reflects you. Choosing furniture (headboards, armchairs, beds, nightstands) also involves selecting the materials and color shades that will start to shape your bedroom. What textiles will you enjoy touching? Do you want a more wooded atmosphere? Or something modern? Do you prefer mismatched furniture or a complete unity, harmonized around a single theme and its color tones?

A piece of furniture doesn’t live alone: it’s part of a whole. A bed pairs with a headboard, continues with a cozy bench, and complements comfortable armchairs to enhance the room. It could also be the matching design of a dark blue nightstand, contrasted by its golden knobs, echoing the gold accents on a cushion on the bed and subtly referencing the rug.

Adjust the lighting according to the time of day.

There are several levels of light throughout your day. One of the lights to highlight is natural light. You can opt for sheer curtains to maintain privacy while allowing light to flood your bedroom during the day. For the evening, consider the different occasions you’ll encounter in your bedroom: perhaps it’s better to prioritize multiple diffuse and adjustable light sources rather than one large central fixture. A bedside lamp for reading, a stronger lamp for navigating the room, a warm light for lounging in bed, whether in a classic or elegant style, or even decorated with a more antique look that takes you back a few centuries in gentle nostalgia. You can also choose a lamp with adjustable brightness through a dimmer switch, allowing you to perfectly control the desired ambiance.

Four walls, four opportunities to travel.

Personalizing your bedroom involves paying attention to the walls. Don’t hesitate to paint them, either to create contrast with your decor or to harmonize with it. Dare to choose tropical wallpaper or antique wallpaper to create an invitation to travel. Embrace colors to bring your personal space to life with new shades: a calming blue, a more natural green, or a cheerful yellow. While some social codes govern the interpretation of colors, it's you who decides the tones that make you feel fulfilled!

The finishing touch: decoration that dresses the space.

No outfit is complete without its accessories! The same goes for your bedroom. Decorating a room is about subtly claiming the last corners of the space to reflect your personality. Artworks allow you to personalize according to your tastes and represent a facet of yourself. Mirrors enlarge the space and bring light and reflection. You can also enhance the space with pedestals and plants to oxygenate the room and make it more lively and vibrant.
